At the same time that schools in Alabama and Florida let out for spring break, Vital Signs car and truck club put together a truck show that brought in more than 350 custom trucks and SUVs to Panama City Beach, Florida. When registration opened Saturday morning, vehicles were lined up out onto Highway 98, and the owners were waiting to get into the show area so they could claim their space and start the daunting task of cleaning their rides.
Everything from S-10s and SUVs to some vintage iron made its way to the showgrounds for the weekend, adding to the mix of vehicles. Spectators made their way through the aisles of lifted and lowered trucks, stopping to check out some beautiful customs, such as Ed Stewart's metallic-yellow '55 F-100 pickup, which took home the Best of Show trophy. There was a great turnout of vendors, with the most notable being the Godfather Customs big rig that was packed with all types of aftermarket parts for cars and trucks.
On Sunday, things really got cranked up, with the club games being followed by a titillating bikini contest featuring 11 hot-looking babes. They put on a great show for the crowd, and the judges had a tough time picking a winner; in the end, they finally went with crowd applause to crown First through Third place. Once the bikini show had come to a close, the club began handing out acrylic trophies.
Everyone had a great time, and Vital Signs did a professional job putting on this event for 2004. We're sure plans are already in the works to make next year's show even bigger and better.
