Big Air, Burnouts, And Bikinis!
As the registration opened in the early morning of Saturday, March 5, the lines grew long with quality rides making their way into the show. Once they made it in, the competition was on between all the trucks shining in the sun. With many events going on, it was hard to keep yourself from wandering all over the place. From morning till afternoon, you had events like the burnout competition, BMX demos, the USACI audio competition, DJs, a bikini contest, a hop-off, and a host of other live entertainment. And once that was all over, it was time to hit the local club for the Spring Break Jam afterparty. As the two-day show came to an end, everyone knew it was time to go home because you can only taste heaven for so long before you have to go home and come back to reality. Even though we couldn't stay for more than a weekend, we still have next year to look forward to.
Even though the hot Texas heat caused a radiator leak on Danny Ramirez old-school Chevy, he didn't stop from driving his truck out to the show. Nice whites! | Cool Box? Check. Plenty of Subs? Check. Everybody gets their own T.V.? Check.
The heavenly bodies were out in full force. | Ray Robins from Mind to Metal brought out this '90 Mazda. What else could you ask for in the Mini? It has a body drop, chop top, and a bitchen motor up front. This thing will be sick when it gets finished. | South Texas Hot Sauce. |
Check out Rene Garza's fully done Cadillac Escalade. It has this killer sound system and phenomenally clean lowrider-style flake paint done up by "The Candyman" of Kandy Kustoms in Corpus Christi, Texas. | On the outside, Joe Robles' truck is very simple, but once the doors are open, you can see there is a whole lot more to it. | The guys of Ground Zero were out in full force, and they brought a few nice rides with them, such as this C10 with that cool retro look. |
| Roscoe made it out to the show in his F-150. And, no, he has never made it out to Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles restaurant. They share no relation between them, but we suggest that he make it out to one because you can't lose with a combo like that. | |
Note to Dave McDonald of Heat Wave Incorporated: Next time, have the ladies hand out the trophies. Trust us, it will make for a better time at the awards ceremony. | It's not too often that you get to see one of these Tahoes as a full custom. But, Jesse Vera's '96 Tahoe really shined in the sun, with his clean paintjob done by J. Valens of Weslaco, Texas. | The crowd felt the full effect of tire smoke in the face. But, it's all in the name of fun, and there weren't any complaints as some trucks shredded through rubber like it was butter. |
The United Freestyle Stunt Team pulled off some crazy moves like there was nothing to them. There were some crash landings, but it was nothing serious enough to even stop the show for a second.

| | The girls of Kicker Audio were out to work the show, if you know what we mean. |
Krazy Kustoms sure knows how to build an enormous truck. Let's just hope they aren't compensating for anything. | | The crowd felt the full effect of tire smoke in the face. But, it's all in the name of fun, and there weren't any complaints as some trucks shredded through rubber like it was butter. |
