Best of Show trophies were comprised of F-150 spindles, 1/4-inch steel plate, a bottle opener, and Texas plaques that were all welded together, powdercoated, and pinstriped.

FAST FACTS:
Showdown is Houston's first and biggest annual truck show. With a ton of trucks built in the surrounding areas, this show usually gets a big crowd. Every year it consistently gets bigger, and even though it rained throughout this year's show, the crowd was bigger than ever. As an added bonus, the first 250 show entrants received a free gift bag, including an exclusive event T-shirt. To make sure the judging of vehicles was done right, the local members of Severed Ties offered their expertise.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
The USACi Sound-Off let contestants prove who had the most bangin' system at the show. The fun on stage included a beer-chuggin' contest to show who had some serious drinking skills and a wet T-shirt contest, where a group of Houston's finest displayed some serious skin. Normally, there is a drag session on Saturday night, but due to rain, it had to be canceled.

With a new single-color paintjob, it was hard to recognize this past cover truck. Along with the new exterior color, the interior received some new goodies, including the one we found chillin' in the driver seat.	Unfortunately, it rained for the majority of the show. Here is a look at the Ground Zero camp while the clouds dumped a heavy shower.
For some reason, big guys like Big John find the need to build little mini-trucks like this one.	After our S-10 project truck spent several months getting work done in the Houston area, it was finished and ready to debut at this year's Showdown. With the use of some painter's tape, we left early on Sunday to drive this truck back to SoCal and prove it's no trailer queen.
We even got Alfredo Diaz of Dima Wheels to school us in polishing our new billet wheels.	Showdown's promoter, Darryl Tracy, brought out his recently painted Ford F-250.
