Whether you were just curious or already well into the rat-rod scene, the Mooneyes Show & Drag had it going on this past December. The event has exploded in recent years and is now a full-on show. Taking place on the east end of Irwindale Speedway's parking lot, the event was completely packed with pre-'65 vehicles. There were plenty of entertaining highlights, including drag races, live bands, and a kickass pin-up girl contest. Also on hand were 85 vendors selling vintage-style clothing, novelty items, and classic car parts. It was a great day for hanging out, and even if you were new to the scene this event was a good opportunity to get a real feel for what it's all about.

Specially pinstriped Moon Wheel Discs were handed out for the best e.t. and the Mooneyes show pick.
Irwindale Speedway's eighth-mile dragstrip was open for races to anyone who entered a vehicle. Stage performances included the Dead Beat Daddys, Hot Rod Trio, and the Dynatones. Later in the day, several artists donated pieces of hot-rod artwork for auction to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children. With the auctioneering help of famous tattoo artist Jack Rudy, a total of $3,210 was raised. The highlight of the on-stage activities had to be the pin-up girl contest put on by Bombshell-N-Ink. The contest got several hot women to strut their stuff for cash and other prizes.
