At Goodguys shows, the award-winning vehicles are driven down an area of the show where the awards are announced while the personalized plaques are handed out. This allowed Jason Moreno to rev up the alcohol-fed motor on his lifted '04 Chevy and let a crowd of spectators hear its loud exhaust. The sound of the truck was so loud that it overpowered the announcement of the winning vehicle in front of it. It was awesome!
Nestled in a suburban valley of the San Francisco bay area, the city of Pleasanton, California, is one of those ideal cities that are almost movie-like. It's a great little town and is a perfect setting for a few Goodguys events. Though there are four different events held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, we chose to take a six-hour road trip to the Summer Get-Together because we knew the warm weather would make for an enjoyable show. We can tell you that the weekend was perfect for this huge show. Since it wasn't too hot or cold during the time of the event, it was no chore to walk though the numerous rows of quality show vehicles. All in all, this is a good show for anyone who is into classic and modern rides.

Personalized glass plaques to the 60 award-winning vehicles. There was only one winner per award category, but there is a wide variety of classes. Some of the notable awards were: Homebuilt Heaven Pick, Low Lid Pick, Nicest '90s, Slick SUV, Suede & Chrome, Under Construction, Hot Hauler, Napa Trick Truck, and the Trick Truck Corral.
Special events
Besides checking out the thousands of vehicles on display, you could shop the swap meet, which had over 1,200 vendors. You could buy anything from memorabilia to automotive parts. If you're not into building a custom ride, you could have shopped the Cars 4 Sale Corral, which had over 500 vehicles up for grabs. The show being family-friendly, there was a kids play area and Revell model-car show. Not only was there a display of built model cars, but kids could also get their hands on a free model car to build at the Revell Make and Take booth.
