Favorite Truck:

Mike Asbahr's '61 Ford F-100

What Issue:
October 2008

Why Mike Picked It:
Without a doubt, Mike Asbahr's '61 Ford F-100 is the toughest-looking truck of this year. I'm diggin' the purple suede paint and simple approach to building this truck. The interior is clean but not overdone and so is the bed. He absolutely nailed the stance of the truck as well. But my favorite aspect of Mike's truck is the engine. Does it get any better or rarer than a Boss Hemi-headed V-8? I think not.

Havoc East

What Issue:
December 2008

Why Mike Picked It:
The Havoc Tour as a whole was fantastic this year, with new destinations and venues for a nice change of pace. But, as usual my favorite spot was Bowling Green, Kentucky, where the East Coast stop was held. You simply cannot go wrong with drag racing and custom trucks all in the same place.

"Do-It-Yourself Rendering"

What Issue:
January 2008

Why Mike Picked It:
Calin wisely proved that even artistically challenged dudes like myself can play Picasso with pencils and create cheap and easy drawings of our trucks. This is way better than the crap I drew while daydreaming in high school.

Chris Torosian's '03 Gmc Sierra

What Issue:
September 2008

Why Kevin Picked It:
I really dig the radical flamejob on this truck-the colors work great together. It just looks killer.

Favorite Show:

Grand National Roadster Show

What Issue:
July 2008

Why Kevin Picked It:
Look, I don't get to go to shows because someone has to hold down Ft. Sport Truck, i.e. proofread the articles and perform various unglamorous, day-to-day office tasks. So, I made my pick based on show coverage. I have to admit Kevin Aguilar's photos from the Grand National Roadster Show were very cool. He snapped a lot of unique vehicles, which I think made for an interesting read.

"Mind Over Metal"

What Issue:
August 2008

Why Kevin Picked It:
There's nothing like watching good old-fashioned metalwork produce quality results. It was a treat to see that custom center console come together with nothing more than a few simple machines, a welder, and pair of hands.
