The 2008 Havoc East Coast marked the second time this show hit Bowling Green, Kentucky. Although the show started a few years back at an indoor venue in Louisville, the decision to move to an outdoor venue came as the event exploded in size. Not having air conditioning was a big letdown, but going outside opened the doors for so much more.
When we heard about the Beech Bend Raceway Park, we were sold with all of the different options the facility had for the participants and us. With an on-site dragstrip, any registered show vehicle could make countless trips down the full quarter-mile track or compete in the Sport Truck Challenge. The park's oval track was opened up on Saturday night for a sanctioned dragging event that was very safe for spectators. Afterward, you could have either went off to the nearby hotels and hung out in the parking lot, or you could have saved money and camped out with your friends at Beech Bend's campground. All in all, this show is perfect for anyone who is into trucks.

Awards given:
Custom acrylic trophies for all winners. Best of Show trophy and $1,000 prize went to Jamie Tiffany for his '88 Dodge D50. Best Club Participation trophy and $1,000 prize went to Twisted Intentions. Top 5 Under Construction picks drew cards and the highest cardholder won a Lincoln Electric welder.
Special Events:
The quarter-mile dragstrip was open to all registered show vehicles and was the setting the Sport Truck Challenge. With the show being outdoors, vehicles were allowed to cruise around. Saturday night, there was a sanctioned dragging event in the oval track. Before the awards ceremony on Sunday, there was a bikini contest held around the starting line of the dragstrip. The $1,000 in cash prizes brought out 13 lovely ladies who were willing to walk the line in front of the crowd. Also, the show was filled with various vendors selling everything from parts to apparel. If that wasn't enough, you could have paid a separate fee to get on some rides at Beech Bend's amusement park.
