One things for sure,...

One things for sure, the guys down south go absolutely insane over a good burnout contest. The Smokin show had almost a full days worth of rubber-roasting excitement. From semi rigs all the way down to bikes and golf carts, everyone wanted a try on the burnout pad. As always, the guy with the ripped-to-shreds tires reigned victorious.

There was never a dull moment...

There was never a dull moment at this southwest Louisiana show. Between judging sessions, some kind of event was always going on, whether it was wheelbarrow races, drunk-mans volleyball, or some other humiliating scene. One of the crowds favorite games was this tug-o-war match between rival truck clubs.

To take a break from the heat,...

To take a break from the heat, enthusiasts piled into the shaded pavilion, held hands, and sang Kum Bah Yah along with the guitarist
just kidding. Local band Jigsaw kept the show rocking.

Hey babe, need a ride?...

Hey babe, need a ride? Some of the younger show-goers were getting early practice at cruising the strip.
Louisiana is known for many things. Its famous for everything from alligators to zydeco music. But its not often that you hear about the wonderful people of Louisiana and the outstanding truck shows they put on. In case you havent experienced Louisiana for yourself, the folks there are hard-core truck enthusiasts
not to mention really serious about having a good time.
When we trekked off to Sulphur, Louisiana, to catch a glimpse of what the sport truck scene might be like there, the Lookers truck club introduced us to Cajun creativity. The clubs show, Smokin in Southwest Louisiana, displayed some brilliant examples of truck modification. Although the Smokin show may not have been the worlds largest truck show ever, it may have been just as grand, simply because it was conducted entirely in the spirit of true southern hospitality. Thats really what these shows are all about, anywayhaving a great time with good people, surrounded by awesome trucks, and sharing ideas about it all.
