Don't you hate that import vehicle manufacturers market their products with Classic Rock? They do it to cling to the American image. And no matter how hard they chip away at the American economy, they will never be able to recreate the essence that is America. John Thompson of Magnolia, Texas, decided to build this '72 C10 with every intention of making it the cleanest anti-import truck out there, old or new. Boy, it sure is nice when we happen upon an old-school truck with modern thinking applied to the buildup. It just reinforces the concept that classic trucks will always hit the pages of Sport Truck magazine.

John took his truck to Bo Rodney at Total Kaos, in Pasadena, Texas, for the smooth bodywork and slick paint. Bo shaved off the rain gutters, tailgate handle, and side markers. The truck's prepped carcass was shot with PPG pigments. Yellow, purple, green, and orange broken up by some sweet, airbrushed chrome graphics make up the color scheme.

David at Texas Motorsports in Conroe, Texas, installed the front and rear 'bags with all the other suspension mods like drop spindles. The assembly of parts was performed by John to form this sick, anti-import Chevy. When we asked what he learned from this build, John replied, "The sun going down is a marker for the second breath."
