Mike King of Seymour, Indiana, designed and built the molded-steel bedcover that extends into the cab to serve as a console. Tea&8217s Design bucket seats covered with tan tweed sit on either side. Much of the bed was sacrificed to create space for the modified frame, but storage compartments were built in behind the seats and at the tailgate.

The custom steel console houses a Lokar shifter, an Alpine head unit, and one of the collection of Auto Meter gauges. Both the console and dash in the Blazer are steel and coated to match the exterior with PPG mix King Red.

Crossbars and beams were fashioned in the bed to support the molded-steel bedcover. The photo also gives another view of the highly modified bed floor and wheel tubs, which were cut and raised to allow for the custom frame.

Mike pulled out all the stops when it came to modifying the body. You’ll recognize part of the bedcover and the console in early stages of development. The modified Art Morrison frame necessitated a few cuts to the floor boards too, but hell, the truck&8217s slammed almost 14 inches. Cut as you will, Mike.
