Powering Bohannon’s beast is a 5.7L LT1 Corvette small-block V-8, pumping out 350hp thanks to its sequential multi-point fuel injection, aluminum block and cylinder heads, and Jardine exhaust system. The torque is routed through a modified 4L60-E four-speed overdrive tranny and out to a custom-built driveshaft that’s hooked to the Vette rear diff. The Corvette small-block engine was an easy and obvious swap for a truck running on Vette suspenders. The hard part was getting the new engine’s computer wired up and communicating with the old truck-bred computer.
