Merging the people- and cargo-carrying capability of a van with the go-anywhere ability of an SUV, the Savana Trekker breaks new ground as a sport-utility van. The Trekker provides adventure seekers full-size comfort and space, combined with an all-wheel drive system that provides superior handling with sure-footed traction and security.

On the Trekker’s roof-mounted viewing platform, you’ll be heads above the rest at outdoor events. And when on the move, your extra gear can be securely stored on top of the platform or inside with the modular tiered storage system.

The innovative left-hand door provides easy access for all passengers to the many amenities and comforts found on the Trekker.

Seven passenger leather seating provides living-room style comfort, enhanced by features such as a first-class video entertainment and Bose sound system. In addition to all-wheel-drive capability, the Trekker adds features such as a roof rack/observation platform, modular interior storage and Dual Port System accessory and trailering hitch system.

"Savana Trekker is at home in both the city and the country," said Mike Johnson, Savana’s assistant brand manager, marketing. "Outdoor-minded customers will appreciate its ability to comfortably transport passengers while carrying all the gear they need to enjoy their favorite activities."

Getting to the destination is no problem. A GPS system helps plot the route, and the all-wheel-drive system helps handle a range of road and weather conditions. The all-wheel-drive system in Savana Trekker operates in rear-wheel drive until the system senses rear-wheel slippage. When that occurs, it transfers torque to the front axle to help regain traction.

A modular roof rack with exterior lighting not only can carry cargo, but can be configured to serve as a platform for watching anything from birds to a NASCAR race. A retractable ladder that fits in the platform provides access to the roof platform, and side rails flip up to form walls. The platform can hold four people and chairs.

To run power tools or camping gear, the Savana Trekker is outfitted with an Aura Systems generator that provides both 120-volt and 240-volt power.

Interior storage includes two overhead, "airline style" lockable long storage bins that make efficient use of space without compromising passenger comfort. For trailering, the Trekker is equipped with a Dual Port System that offers a traditional towing option, along with the ability to add accessories such as a bike rack or a cargo platform.

The Savana Trekker looks as good as it performs, with a refined yet rugged appearance. Brushed nickel accents highlight the grille, and halogen fog lamps are integrated into the front fascia. Windows carry a deep tint, and the van’s "Heather Mist" metallic exterior paint styled by Nippon Paint - Color Design Studio of America is carried over to door handles, body side moldings and rear bumper for a monochromatic look.

Getting inside the Savana Trekker is simple and quick due to the left hand, 60/40 door. Once inside, passengers travel comfortably on leather seats with fitted slip-on Codura seat covers.
