2001 GMC Sierra - A Stitch In Time

Chances are that if you live in the Phoenix area, you already know Todd Jubert and the custom interior work that his shop - cleverly named The Interior Shop - has done over the past 14 years. What he may lack in creativity when it comes to naming a business, he more than makes up for with his work. After all, we all know the saying, "Actions speak louder than words."

There are some actions, however, that many of us wish could be taken back, such as the night that a drunk driver took the life of Todd's wife. As anyone can understand, that tragedy put his life in a holding pattern while he took time to focus on raising his son Dylan. As time passed, Todd felt his leave of absence from the custom truck scene coming to an end, so he decided that not only would he make another appearance, he'd come back with a whole new truck.

An '01 GMC Sierra was chosen as the project truck and pulled into the garage next door to Todd's shop, which happens to belong to Grunion Fabrication. There, the guys 'bagged all four corners, notched the frame, and installed a custom four-link out back. Each of the stock rollers were thrown aside and replaced with a set of 20-inch Bonspeed Laguna wheels wrapped in 255/35 Goodyear rubber.

Todd and his dad Chuck then took the reins and began ripping out the factory interior. Auto Custom Carpet was added beneath the freshly covered Katzkin black-and-blue suede seats. The dash was molded and painted using House of Kolor True Blue, while each of the flame-cut door panels was designed using the same treatments and backed with MB Quart mids and tweets. Several other sets of MB Quart mids and subs pack the interior and fire, thanks to a slew of JL Audio amps.

We're definitely glad Todd has reemerged into the custom truck scene to showcase his talents. A special thanks goes out from Todd to his Mom and Dad, son Dylan, the boys at Grunion Fabrication, Shawn Caskey, Rob Olin, John Owen, and, of course, his club brothers in Negative Camber.
