Chassis-wise, this leaf-sprung rear, double-wishbone front suspension is as nimble as any truck we've driven this new-truck season. Its frame is very stiff, the shock and spring rates are expertly tuned and balanced, and this truck has some very large binders. We pushed the new Titan very hard in the mountains surrounding Blackcombe and Whistler ski areas in British Columbia. Downhill, through an endlessly twisting two-lane, we had to intentionally brake supremely late to get the brakes to begin to fade; they immediately recovered when we eased off just a tick. In addition to very competent brakes, the Titan's cornering power and handling rate with the best domestic fullsize pickups; the same can be said of its ride quality.
All in all, it's a very impressive-performing machine that's filled with a pleasing and desirable mix of style and conveniences. We strongly recommend a test drive of the new Titan before you make your final decision on any other truck.
