2007 Nissan Titan
Who steals a '77 Chrysler Cordoba? That's the question we had after talking with Guy Robbins, the owner of this slick Nissan Titan. Guy ended up building this truck after getting carjacked in his Chrysler. It wasn't a beat-down K-car mind you, it was a chopped, shaved, candy painted-and-tuckin' 22s street terror that some POS wanted more than Guy did. As bad as we feel for him, we still think he came out ahead. Aside from rolling it to an A-Team chase car convention, that Cordoba wasn't going to cut it no matter how much cash he threw at it. On the other hand, the Titan is a ride worth pimpin' out.
Not wanting to give up his passion for building a ride that would break necks at stoplights, Guy decided to come back even stronger after his unfortunate lowlife encounter with a truck most don't consider customizing. The switch from a midsize car to a truck came after Guy ogled his buddy's badass Dodge sport truck. Guy dropped 30K at his local Nissan dealer on a new Titan and had it bagged right away. The new air suspension wasn't all it was cracked up to be, so Guy took the truck over to Chaotic Rods and Customs to have the suspension revamped. Once the suspension work was finished and the new wheels were installed, Mike Jones made Guy a deal he couldn't refuse: He'd lay some sweet graphics down on the body of the Titan and allow Guy to help out by doing the shaving and bodywork. The opportunity to work on his truck while picking up tips from the pros and scoring a tribal paintjob was not lost on Guy.
The pointers he received really helped Guy get crackin' on the shaving and bodywork. He spent a couple of hours each night at Chaotic working on his truck after working his day job as a machinist. The transformation from mild to wild custom truck seemed to take forever, but Guy was as committed as the shop was to seeing the job through. The memory of having his last pride and joy ripped from his clutches served as a fantastic motivator for putting in the long hours required of a new truck build. In just over a year, the truck was customized, detailed, and rollin' hard to shows all over Texas.
Guy is already making plans to either alter this truck's appearance or be the first to drop the upcoming restyled Titan. Either way, his plan for a body-dropless chassis, larger diameter wheels, painted interior paneling, and a smoothed out bed floor will translate to maximum attention. We don't know what happened to the asshole that put Guy's life in jeopardy and stole his pride and joy. We are sure that he's not having nearly as much fun as Guy is though. Turning lemons into lemonade is what this hobby is all about.
