This area of the core support has to be either beat back with a hammer or cut out, because the new projector beam units are deeper.

We opted to remove the area with a cut-off wheel.

Here, you can see why we needed to make this cut.

With that, the new projector beam headlights were installed using the factory hardware.

These new lights also have an extra running light on the side that needs to be tapped into the factory running light harness for power. We used the supplied wire taps, instead of cutting up our factory harness.

We turned on the headlights after everything was plugged in and set the adjustment. They have these projector-style lights for '88-'03 Chevy trucks and SUVs.

The grille shell was reinstalled, and the parking lights went in to complete the front portion of the lighting install.

We have all seen these by now, and we were just tired of the plain look--but not only that, they just don't match the styling of the front anymore, so that's all about to change.

Dropping the tailgate allows you to get at the two Phillips screws that hold the taillight in. Once the screws are out, pull straight back on the assembly, which will get it out without breaking the little tabs that hold the front of the lens snug against the bed side.

The IPCW LED taillight assemblies have factory-style plugs on them for a no-hassle install.

They also feature the same indexing tabs as the factory, so make sure they are in their appropriate slot before installing the screws.

There will be no mistaking when we are on the brakes of this truck, thanks to how bright the LEDs are.
