Where: Eagle River, Alaska
What: '02 Dodge Ram
Brett of Eagle River, Alaska, owns this '02 Dodge Ram. It's an SLT 4x4 with a touch of street on it. First off, all the emblems were removed and the mirrors and handles were sanded and shot to match the body paint. A Street Scene speed grille and tinted windows were all it took to get the smooth look Brett was in search of. Performance is enhanced by Gibson's after-cat exhaust system, and a K&N round filter is attached to the throttle body for a nostalgic look and high flow. Superchips took care of the fuel and timing modifications, which really made the best use of the other mods. Even though the truck is a 4x4, which is needed in Alaska, Brett was in search of a more street-respectable suspension. A glimpse into Brett's future reveals the truck will receive a roll pan, shaved handles, and a supercharger. Brett says everyone loves his license plate, which reads "GOTRAM." It's hard to get the look right when you live in a place that requires your vehicle to tackle such harsh elements, yet Brett seems to have it nailed.
The Brothers GM
Who: Dustin, Mike, and Scott
Where: Crookston, Minnesota
What: '99 4x4, '94 GMC, and '99 Chevy Tahoe
Dustin of Crookston, Minnesota, has two brothers, and all three are sport truck enthusiasts. At the front of the photo lineup is Mike's '99 4x4. It sports 22-inch Cali wheels wrapped in good rubber. Inside, a Panasonic deck is enhanced with an XM radio and two 12-inch subs. In the middle is Dustin's '94 GMC 4x4 truck. A set of 22-inch Cali wheels, painted mirrors, and removed body molding give it a personalized touch. Dustin's truck also sport a JVC head unit, 5-inch monitor, and two 12-inch subs. Lastly is Scott, who is the proud owner of the SUV to the rear. In an attempt to be different, Scott stuck a set of 20-inch Dante wheels to the axles. A Panasonic head unit and twin subs also equip the '99 Chevy Tahoe for a taste of custom. It doesn't take much to make a vehicle personalized, and these three brothers have all got the custom bug.
What: '03 Dodge Ram
Ryan from Phoenix bought this '03 Dodge Ram with body kit and spray-in 'liner. Upon purchase, the 19-year-old ran the 5.7L Hemi-powered hauler to the nearest accessory store and purchased goods to get it closer to his dream truck. The addition of leather, a wood-grain kit, and an ICE sound system complete with TV tuner are just some of the accessories. In the performance area, he installed an Airaid air intake and Flowmaster exhaust system. Externally, all the emblems were removed (except the Hemi badges), all windows were limo-tinted, Hyper white-head light bulbs were added, and KMC wheels with BFG G-Force hides were mounted under the heavy hauler. The finished build will include a fiberglass console with four JL 10-inch 'woofers, a tonneau cover, an automatic sunroof, shaved handles, a roll pan, and an SRT-10 hood.
Where: Tell City, Indiana
What: '96 S-10 Blazer
Sharon of Tell City, Indiana, says her '96 S-10 Blazer is her favorite pastime. She installed a Flowmaster after-cat exhaust system, Stylin' Concepts billet accessories, Lund hoodscoops, and 1,200-watt stereo. She says the next stage of mods will include wheels and tires, and a GM Performance 383ci crate engine. She gets a little flack from her friends from spending so much effort on her truck, but says they're just jealous. She also says that the guys in her area get baffled when they learn a girl built the little Blazer. Good luck on your new mods, Sharon. Please send us some more pix after you squeeze in that 383ci stroker motor.
