2007 Chevy Avalanche Engine

Like the other GMT-900 SUVs, the Avalanche is powered by a standard 5.3L Vortec V-8. Although producing a healthy 320 hp on paper, it's a little shy on low-end torque. A 6.0L V-8 with 380 lb-ft of torque will be offered later in the model year.
