Nestled in a suburban valley of the San Francisco bay area, the city of Pleasanton, California, is one of those ideal cities that are almost movie-like. It's a great little town and is a perfect setting for a few Goodguys events. Though there are four different events held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, we chose to take a six-hour road trip to the Summer Get-Together because we knew the warm weather would make for an enjoyable show. We can tell you that the weekend was perfect for this huge show. Since it wasn't too hot or cold during the time of the event, it was no chore to walk though the numerous rows of quality show vehicles. All in all, this is a good show for anyone who is into classic and modern rides.

Once again, the Big Show lives up to its name. If you're a fan of this Carolina favorite, you know that "Big" means more entertainment than you're likely to find at your last several shows combined. "The Rock," North Carolina's famous Rockingham Dragway, is tailor-made for automotive excitement, beginning with quarter-mile fun runs all weekend and cruisin' around the park till your tank runs dry. Big also means a long list of nonstop activities to wear you out, bikini-contest action to fire you up, and on-site camping within walking distance when it's time to crash. And oh yeah, there was a great collection of trucks!

After all of the speculation of things going wrong with this year's event, Gator Drag went off just as planned. This time around marked the third different location since the show's beginnings in Louisiana. The venue changes made it difficult for some to keep up on the event, while others became skeptical that it could keep going strong.

Ah, spring time. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and low-profile tires are burning. April is a great month to clean up your rig, head for a destination show, and show off your hard work while some hardbodies check out the scene. Lake Havasu, Arizona, works well in this scenario, and once again the first stop of the annual Havoc Show Tour found us partying next to the infamous "channel."

Over the first weekend in August, Havoc East returned to Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, for two awesome days packed full of frame dragging, quarter mile dragging, burnouts, babes, venders offering all the stuff you wanted, and everything else you'd expect from a memorable truck show. Attracting an array of mild to wild lifted trucks, slammed minis, diesel beasts, cover trucks, and under construction trucks, undoubtedly Mini Truckin', Sport Truck, Truckin', Diesel Power, and 8-Lug Magazines know how to throw a rockin' show.

Forbidden Fantasy, also known as FFF, annually strives to host one of the biggest truck shows on the West Coast. Their efforts are recognized by many, and the club is able to attract some of the cleanest trucks in Southern California. The only thing that has occasionally hampered the show's success is the weather. Though this winter season seemed long and unseasonably cold, things changed around the time of this year's event. The sun came out, and hundreds of enthusiasts dusted off their trucks and headed to Perris, California. It was one kickass start to the '08 show season.

Club Severed Ties decided to do the third annual Tex Mex show as a traditional three-day truck run. Such an event requires sites for camping of course, and Overlook Park in Somerville, Texas, offered plenty of space and a great location next to Lake Somerville.

After taking a year off while show promoter Eddy Cebreco relocated to California to come work with Sport Truck, Blood Drag was moved 688 miles north to Anderson, South Carolina for 2008. Because of the move, the Anderson County Blood Bank became the new recipient of donations received at Blood Drag. With warmer-than-usual weather, showgoers couldn't have asked for a better weekend to spend time with friends and make new ones and donate a pint of their blood for a great cause.

Once known as the Oakland Roadster Show and first held in 1950, the Grand National Roadster Show has lasted through the decades, making it the longest-running indoor car show. Now held in Southern California, the Grand National Roadster Show is still widely known for its high standards for competing vehicles. It has long been a prominent show for top-notch customizers, and that legacy persists.

Ironman's Trucks To Run AEM Filters
Ivan "Ironman" Stewart is a legendary off-road racer who started the Baja Protruck racing series. Protrucks are spec trucks that all ride on the same chassis, much like NASCAR stock cars do. Protrucks race at select Best In The Desert and SCORE races. AEM recently teamed up with Ivan to become the official air filter of Protruck. All pro racers will now use off-the-shelf AEM Dryflow filters to protect their trucks' engines.

Resolutions is one of the most popular shows in the custom-truck scene. The event draws hundreds of mild to wild custom vehicles and boasts unforgettable nights of hanging out with fellow truck enthusiasts. For decades, many have traveled long distances to several desert towns in California to live it up at this original truck run.

Established in 1989, Hardcore is one of the oldest car/truck clubs in Florida. After club member Larry Neal Oliver was murdered 13 years ago by thieves who stole his truck, the club established an annual memorial event. Eventually the truck was recovered, and Larry's parents attend the show each year to display it in his memory.

Whether you were just curious or already well into the rat-rod scene, the Mooneyes Show & Drag had it going on this past December. The event has exploded in recent years and is now a full-on show. Taking place on the east end of Irwindale Speedway's parking lot, the event was completely packed with pre-'65 vehicles. There were plenty of entertaining highlights, including drag races, live bands, and a kickass pin-up girl contest. Also on hand were 85 vendors selling vintage-style clothing, novelty items, and classic car parts. It was a great day for hanging out, and even if you were new to the scene this event was a good opportunity to get a real feel for what it's all about.

As October approached and the show season started to wind down, a group of show promoters in Texas were thinking of a way to thank the people who made their respective shows successful throughout the year. So what better way to say thanks than to throw a free event? How about free food and free beer? If this sounds good to you, then Weeniestock is your show!

The 2008 Havoc West Coast Stop kicked off with the State 2 State Cruise, which took participants from Anaheim, California, to Lake Havasu, Arizona, on Friday, April 11, 2008. Breezy conditions upon arrival in Lake Havasu kept temperatures tolerable Friday and Saturday, only to be exhausted by Sunday. The show was held on the outskirts of the beautiful Bridewater Links Golf Course at the London Bridge Resort. With the London Bridge only a short walk away, plenty of entertainment and sightseeing was within reach all weekend long. Although the 2008 HAVOC Havasu Show has successfully come and gone, there is still plenty of action left with HAVOC Fresno and HAVOC Kentucky.
