11. The reluctor wheel is connected to the timing advance mechanism. The advance simple pushes the rotor forward as the engine rpm come up, which ignites the fuel earlier in the cycle to accommodate increased piston speed. The reluctor on the left has no advance stops. Orange County Speed welds stops onto the advance mechanism, then machines them down on the lathe for the desired amount of advance. This allows Orange County Speed to predetermine the amount of advance needed for the application. View Related Article
