949 Horsepower Valvetrain Puzzle
|
28. The remaining pieces of the valvetrain puzzle remain the same from the last installment of this story. The Comp Cams 1.73 ratio aluminum rocker arms, Comp pushrods, and roller lifters were all reused since there was relatively little run time on the parts. The Weiand blower intake manifold was also installed onto the engine at this time. Because the cylinder heads have been milled to decrease the size of the combustion chambers, the intake manifold required a double-thick gasket to seal properly. The repositioned intake also affects port alignment, but as you'll soon see in the dyno figures, this blower application doesn't seem to mind the port mismatch at all. The intake manifold bolts were torqued to 30 lb-ft. View Related Article
