949 Horsepower Weiand Roots Style Supercharger

29a. The Weiand 8-71 roots-style supercharger was set onto the studs following a gasket placed on top of the intake manifold. No sealant was used on this gasket, but talcum or baby powder can be used to prevent the gasket from sticking to the manifold. The supercharger was bolted onto 5/16-inch mounting studs with nuts that were torqued to 10 lb-ft. This roots supercharger features twin counter-rotating lobes that trap air from the intake side of the supercharger (the rear), move it around the casing of the lobes, and out the bottom of the supercharger and into the intake manifold.
