Cadillac Escalade Front-End Conversion on a Chevy Tahoe - Work Truck Be Gone

22. Since we were converting from a work-truck front end, we had to pick up four Weatherpak pigtails and wire them in. Once they were in place, we plugged them into the new headlights.

23. Now the headlight assemblies were bolted into place on the core support.

24. Installation of the grille shell was next, but a few attachment points needed to be installed first.

25. This old attachment point had to be removed.

26. The old attachment point was replaced with this attachment bracket, which will hold the center of the grille in two places and keep it from flexing.

27. Two of these upper mounting points were attached next.

28. Now the grille was hung and the upper and center screws were attached.

29. The outer screws were installed just before the turn signals were set in and tightened down.

30. This is the bumper assembly that fits behind the bumper cover and Styrofoam pad.

31. Assembled, it holds the outer wings of the bumper cover pretty solidly.

32. The bumper brackets were bolted on and the entire assembly was slid into the frame horns.

33. We reattached the bumper using the same six bolts that came out of the frame horn.

34. These bolts on the ends of the bumper cover attach to a slotted bracket and were adjusted for the right gap with the fender.

35. We checked the gap between the grille and bumper by running our finger the length of the two. If they're off, the gap could be adjusted by loosening the bumper bracket bolts on one side.

36. It's hard to believe the job was that easy. And what a huge improvement the new Escalade clip makes on the Tahoe - even without paint!

37. We were so excited about our Caddy clip that we went down to the dealership for a new emblem.
