NOS Universal Kit on a 1998 Chevy S10 - Best Bang For The Buck
10.Here is another view from... 10.Here is another view from overhead of how we mounted the activation switch. 11.We tapped into our fuel... 11.We tapped into our fuel supply by removing the Shrader needle from the valve on the factory fuel line. We built this assembly using 1/4-inch NPT brass blocks so we could add the electronic fuel pressure sensor for the Auto Meter gauge and a fuel pressure safety switch, not included with the kit. The pressure safety switch will not allow the nitrous system to fire if fuel pressure is not present. This will protect us from a lean condition that may cause engine damage. 12.Wiring the NOS kit is really... 12.Wiring the NOS kit is really simple, since a relay harness was provided. Mount the harness in a location that is convenient and run the wires to the respective connections. The wires from the relay go to the following connections: red, WOT switch; blue, one wire from each solenoid (do not connect purge to this wire); green, chassis ground; and orange, battery. 13.Here we installed the purge... 13.Here we installed the purge button on the driver-side kick panel so the foot could operate it. 14.To make the purge system... 14.To make the purge system operational, run a red power wire from one side of the switch to a 12-volt switched power source. Run another wire from the remaining open side of the switch to one of the wires on the purge solenoid. Finally, connect the remaining wire on the purge solenoid to a chassis ground. 15.Inside, you'll need to... 15.Inside, you'll need to mount the arming switch. This will be used to arm the entire system, so it will only work when this switch is on. Run a red power wire from one side of the switch to a 12-volt switched power source. Run another wire from the open side of the switch out to one side of the fuel pressure safety switch. 16.At the fuel pressure safety... 16.At the fuel pressure safety switch, we have one wire connected coming off the arming switched mounted inside the cab. Run the other wire from the remaining open post on the fuel pressure safety switch to one of the posts on the WOT switch. At this time, you can connect the red wire coming from the relay to the remaining open post on the WOT switch. 17.Now connect the blue wire... 17.Now connect the blue wire from the relay to one wire from each solenoid. Then connect each remaining wire from each solenoid to a chassis ground. 18.The last two connections... 18.The last two connections from the relay are for power and ground. Connect the green wire to a chassis ground and connect the orange wire to the battery.
