7.Here's Doug, the old header-meister, installing the passenger-side header.

8.A total of 16 10mm header bolts were used to secure each side. This part obviously took the most amount of time.

9.With the passenger side fully installed, Doug focused his attentions on the driver's side. The driver-side header was installed in the same manner as the passenger side. After bolting up both sides, the factory plastic inner fender panels were reinstalled. The remainder of the installation work was underneath the truck.

10.The next step was the installation of the crossover elbow, which was bolted to the driver-side collector using three 3/8x9/16-inch nuts and bolts.

11.You'll also have to install the OEM DaimlerChrysler catalytic converter onto the crossover Y-pipe elbow, with the connecter pipe added on the back side of the catalytic converter. With the after-cat pipe installed, the Doug's Headers crew installed the 3-inch U-bolt clamp and tightened everything up.

12.Here, Doug Thorley and Chad Hundley installed the thermal barrier-coated after-cat dual-muffler setup.

13.The setup was secured at the catalytic-converter end via the 3-inch U-bolt clamp and at the other end by a muffler hanger.

14.With the muffler system in place, the crew proceeded to install the tailpipes. The pipes were routed over the axle and positioned so they didn't contact anything under the truck.

15.The tailpipe assemblies were bolted to the back of the muffler with three 3/8x9/16-inch nuts, bolts, and star lock washers.

16.Installation of the two 3-inch mirror-polish stainless-steel exhaust tips finished off this system. These tips were secured in place using special stainless-steel band clamps, which are included.

17.With everything bolted in place, this is what you end up with. "Now, this Hemi sounds and performs like the old Hemis used to," Thorley said.
