9.The only piece of the factory intake that is reused is the meter. Special torque-headed fasteners hold it in, but don't call your tool guy just yet, as AEM sends the correct tool to remove them.

10.The factory box snaps into two rubber grommets that AEM uses to hold the heatshield. Two machined aluminum adapters are installed to provide a tightenable mount for the heatshield.

11.With those installed, the shield drops into place and is secured.

12.A step-down formed silicone hose is used to make the transition from the oval shape of the air door to the round tube.

13a.Now the tube and filter are installed.

14.Here is the unit completely installed and ready for dyno-flogging action.

15.Back to R&D we go. On the way there, we already noticed a big difference in the truck's demeanor. Throttle response is crisper, we can now hear the whine of the supercharger, and we gained 1-1/2 pounds of boost. The AEM Brute Force Intake works well enough to let the air move so free thatthe supercharger can suck more of it in.

16.After everything was said and done, the truck picked up 20.7 hp - not bad for one bolt on and about an hour of work.
