Pioneer used the same material used in race-car bodies and bulletproof vests to construct its new streamline sub known as the TS-TW124D. This new 'woofer is a mere 4 inches deep, and requires only 0.8 cubic feet to run efficiently. The rugged one-piece aluminum die-cast basket for the sub holds the 'woofer rigid, allowing high-power performance in the streamlined design, with no deflection. This eliminates flexing in the sub housing, creating distortion.
