Even with the 1,000-cfm carb, you can see we started building vacuum in the intake at 3,600 rpm. At 7,200 rpm, the engine should have 1-1/2 inches of vacuum in the intake. This vacuum is a result of the engine pulling harder than the carb could deliver. This would indicate that this combination could actually use a larger carb on the top end. View Related Article
