 Headrest Monitors
| 1. Removing the front stock headrests is done by pushing in the retainer release with a small pick. | 2. In comparison, you can see the Visualogic headrests are slightly thicker to accommodate the 9-inch monitor and built-in DVD player. |
 3. Because the A2000 headrests are side-loading, it would be stupid to have a DVD player in the driver-side headrest. For one, the seatbelt is designed into the seatback, so getting to the player would be difficult, not to mention the player would eject DVDs right out into the wind. So, the headrest that has the player has two connectors to it. One for the player, and one for the monitor. | 4. The connectors are put in the headrest mount holes, then the headrests are slid into position. | 5. The slave monitor (driver side) only has one connector and is installed the same way. |
 6. With the seat leaned forward, we pulled the plastic "J" hook apart to get to the inside of the back-rest cover, so we could reach the connectors we just stuck inside. | 7. After pulling the connectors from inside the backrest, they were routed to middle of the truck's interior for installation. | 8. With the connector wires pulled to the desired side, we simply pinched the back-rest cover "J" hooks back together then routed the connectors under the carpet to the control module. |
 9. Each monitor transmits an infrared signal for the wireless headphones. When the monitor is powered up, it displays which of the two channels it transmits. | 10. In between each of the control buttons on the monitor are the infrared transmitters. | 11. A set of headphones comes in the kit, and either of them can be switched from channel A or B to accommodate either of the two monitors. |
 12. The A-2000 Vizualogic DVD player is not attached to the monitor. It's only half an inch thick and fits in the headrest without having to make the headrest much bigger than the stock unit. | 13. DVDs are loaded with the bottom of the disc facing toward the front of the truck. The monitor controls provide adjustment of not only the input source, but contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness, and screen aspect ratio. | 14. Of course, the kit also comes with a remote control that the passengers get to fight over. This device can make for some good entertainment, as well as control the Visualogic DVD player. |
 15. The power it takes to run the two headrest monitors and the DVD player can drain a gob of juice. We suggest installing the units by running dedicated power source for them and use a solenoid wired to the stereo's amp remote to trigger the units with the stereo power switch. | 16. You're not limited to DVD movies with Vizualogic's A-2000 system. This DVD player also plays CD-DA: CD contains musical or audio content, CD-Video: CD contains movie, CD-R/RW: A disc that contains audio files, such as a CD-R with downloaded MP3 , MPEG, or JPEG files. | 17. Also included in this kit is Vizualogic's GamePak GP-50. Imagine 50 games with no console to buy and no cartridges to carry. The GamePak GP-50 comes pre-installed with 50 old-school games to keep the passengers entertained. |
 18. Here is the A/V box. It provides inputs and outputs for patching the audio and video signals from their source to their desired destinations. | 19. The A/V box has two power wires, one constant hot and one switched. The green wire is designed to cut the video signal unless the emergency brake is set. We weren't installing any monitors in the front, so we just grounded the green wire with the black wire to eliminate this feature. | 20. Don't be intimidated by the spaghetti legs on the A/V box. On the right of the box is the power and inputs, and all the other wires are outputs for monitors. |
21a. | 21b. Our head unit is equipped with the ability to play video. By simply running the output to the A/V box input and looping one of the A/V box outputs to your stereo's input, you can use the Visualogic disc player to listen to music. We found this to be a good way to include everyone in the music selection. Plus, our head unit uses a disc for navigation, so by using the Visualogic disc player to listen to music, our navigation nor our music were interrupted. If you do this, make sure you don't plug in the video. It's against the law to watch videos while you drive. | |
