 4. Rubber trim 1. To clean the rubber trim that surrounds most windows, we did an initial wipe-down with electric parts cleaner. | 2. Then, we applied a coat of Mother's Back To Black to make it look as new as possible. | 3. To get down into the tight spaces, try wrapping your towel around a small piece of plastic. |
 5. Engine Compartment 1. Here is what most engine compartments look like after a few months of daily driving. | 2. If you aren't showing your truck to anyone, then you can skip this step, but shame on you. We can't stand it anymore, so we are going to freshen it up. First, we went around and sprayed all of the raw aluminum parts with brake cleaner. | 3. Holding a rag underneath the part will catch all of the run-off and keep it from going where you don't want it to. For the plastic parts like the washer bottle, we used some Simple Green and a rag. |
 4. The intake manifold and the valve covers were way beyond just a cleaning, so we used some tinfoil to mask off the area, then hosed it down with a few coats of black paint. | 5. For everything else, we used Adam's In and Out Spray. This stuff is sort of like a tire dressing, but it is very low-sheen and doesn't leave a greasy film. | 6. Now that looks more like it. It only took about an hour and a half to go from cruddy to nice. |
 6. Headlights 1. The headlights on the truck take a massive beating and, if made of plastic, tend to cloud up over time. | 2. Mother's Power Ball Mini and the company's Power Plastic Polish turn back the hands of time in just a few minutes. We taped off the surrounding area before coating the ball with some polish and letting loose on the headlight. | 3. We only did half of the light, so you could easily see the results a little better but after the picture, we finished the process. We have to say this Power Ball Mini and the polish was much cheaper than purchasing new lights. |
 7. Carpet 1. The carpet catches everything from dirt off of your shoes to the runaway French fry, and it deserves a good cleaning once in a while. Obviously, the vacuum will be crucial for this job, but a vacuum won't remove a stain. | 2. Meguiar's has teamed up with the experts at Bissell for the Quick Out Carpet and Stain Remover. We sprayed a little bit of the cleaner directly to the stain and agitated it with a brush in a back-and-forth motion, not in circles. | For a mystery stain like this, you will need a chemical cleaner. |
 3. We know that sounds like an infomercial, but that's how easy it was. | Then, we blotted the area dry with a towel to lift the stain right out. | 4. One of the biggest mistakes people make when cleaning their carpet is using too much cleaner and saturating the carpet. The cleaner then soaks through into the padding and then starts to stink, so go easy. The floor mats will clean up with a little Simple Green, a Mother's Carpet Brush, and some muscle. Fight the urge to put the mats on the ground, dirt will stick to the backs and end up on your carpet, if you forget to clean that side. |
