13. And finally, we threw 5 gallons of diesel in our truck to get it fired up and over to a refilling station. The motor lit right off, and the fuel gauge read accurately. What little amount of fuel we had onboard made the gauge just barely read a tick over the empty line. Once we were at the gas station, it cost about 180 bucks to fill the thirsty new tank, but the owner reports driving for weeks without needing to stop for a fill-up. Nice!
