Chevrolet's newest offering in the truck category is the '07 Silverado. This truck features an all-new sheetmetal and grille design that, in our opinion, is a perfect canvas to customize. Because we are custom freaks, we just had to see one of these trucks sporting a billet grille. T-Rex has a full billet overlay grille that requires no cutting to install and looks pretty sweet. The grilles are constructed out of T-6 billet aluminum, which has been TIG-welded in a custom jig to ensure nice straight lines. They will come to you completely powdercoated black, except for the face, which will be polished to a nice luster. The crew at SoCal SuperTrucks took a small break during the suspension lift to install the T-Rex bars.

In the before and after shot, you can see how accepting the new Silverado is to a billet grille. That added piece of flash ties in nicely with the huge chrome bumper and gives the front end a little more continuity. The lower bumper filler is sold separately, just in case you've installed some sort of bumper cover.

Fear not GMC owners, T-REX has a billet grille setup for you guys, too. Just because you bought Professional Grade doesn't mean you can't have custom.

To get these inserts in place, the main grille assembly needs to be removed. Step one in that process is to remove the radiator cover by popping out the plastic fasteners.

Under that, you will find four 10mm bolts and six metal clips. Use a ratchet to take out the bolts, and a long flat-tip screwdriver should make quick work of the clips.

Here is the hardware from T-Rex for both the upper (R) and lower (L) grille inserts.

The upper grille installs...

The upper grille installs by placing the billet bars in the proper opening and tightening it with the provided hardware.

The lower insert installs...

The lower insert installs via two Phillips head screws onto two L-shaped brackets that mount into two existing holes on the truck.
The Final Word
There is nothing simpler or more visually beneficial than a billet grille installation. This is probably the first mod a new truck owner should do; it's a great start down custom street.
