1b. On HD trucks like Street Beat's, the stock bumper mounts must be modified to bolt onto the new Escalade bumper. The Escalade part's mounting holes are located higher up than the HD bumper, so the framehorns must be trimmed, and the frame mounts must have threaded spacers added. The stock mounts were torched off the frame, and the new spacers were welded directly to them Note, these spacers are not included in the kit.

This is necessary in order for the latch to engage with the Escalade hood, which has a lower profile and lower latch point. Although not absolutely necessary to do during the mock-up phase, the shroud was popped over the latch using the factory plastic clips.
