Lowering A 2007 Chevy Colorado - Attitude Adjustment


PART THREE: THE CROSSMEMBER


1. To begin the installation, we supported the transmission with a jack and removed the hardware (two bolts) that secures the transmission mount to the transmission crossmember.

The tranny crossmember is secured to the frame by three 15mm bolts on each framerail. After all of the bolts were removed.

3a. A Sawzall was used to cut off most of the mounting bracket for the factory crossmember.

4b. With the crossmember held in place, Semon finger-tightened the bolts into the framerails and secured the bolts at the tranny mount first, then tightened all the hardware to ensure that everything was ready to go.
