1.The rear suspension is a standard multileaf design with staggered shock absorbers. | 2.The stock shocks are quite adequate on the road but will have a hard time keeping up with the added weight of the larger tires and the abuse of rough terrain. Pro Comp's eS9000 six-way adjustable shocks gave us all the play we needed to dial in a smooth ride. | 3.Five inches of additional ride height is added via a 3-inch lifting block and an additional short leaf spring. note the extended brake-line mounting brackets. No need to buy longer lines with this kit. |
4.Here's a look at the completed suspension assembly. It only took about 1.5 hours to install the new rear parts. | 5.The last upgrade was a stack of spacers that went between the rear driveline carrier- bearing support. It moved the driveline down to prevent vibration at high speeds. | 6.Pro Comp's Xtreme A/T tires measure 35x12.50x20 and are mounted on Pro Comp Alloys Series 8188 20x9 wheels in a gloss black finish. The wheels feature a lifetime warranty against structural defects, and the tires come with a 40,000-mile treadwear warranty. The tires offer excellent grip on wet asphalt and in the dirt, and as a bonus they are extremely quiet on the highway. notice that the tires are marked so that the right wheel gets bolted onto each corner of the truck. This is because our Tundra, like most new vehicles, has air-pressure sensors for each wheel to warn us if the tires are going flat. |
