Chevy Tahoe Lowering Kit Ball Joints
|
4.With all of the brakes out of the way, Terry loosened the upper and lower ball joint nuts and whacked the spindle with a hammer. Because the ball joints have a tapered seating arrangement the shock of the hammer blow will usually free them up. If this doesn't work, a pickle fork will be needed, but the hammer almost always works. Because this is a strut-type front suspension, you won't have to worry about the spring flying out or supporting the lower control arm, which makes the new GM design a little easier to work on.
