1. Before any taping can be done, a few things need to happen. Everything that is not going to get painted needs to be taped off or removed. The surface needs to be prepped. For stock clear, wet-sand with 600, and for a truck like this, you can just do it over the new basecoat. You can either start at the front or rear of the truck, depending on what works best for you. Steve decided to start at the taillights and work towards the front with 1/4-inch crepe masking tape.
