3. After the holes are in the pattern, it is attached to the other side of the truck using the reference marks to get it in the right spot. A shop rag is filled with ordinary line chalk and taped shut. Rubbing the chalk-filled rag over the pattern will send chalk through the holes and leave a nice dotted line to follow with tape.
