Don’t count out the 4.6L two-valve as a performance piece. Swapping the Big Three can add nearly 140 hp. Before getting to the upgrades, it was necessary to baseline the stock ’97 4.6L two-valve motor. Equipped with Hooker headers, the otherwise stock 4.6L produced 268 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque.
