The first step is to remove the underhood light from the stock hood. This is done by pressing the lights plastic clip to release the light and then removing the 10mm nut to free the wiring.

Once the light is out of the way, gently pull the clips out that secure the underhood insulation pad. The pad and the clips, along with the light, will be reinstalled on the new hood.

Next loosen the six 13mm bolts that hold the hood to the hinges. Leave the bolt closest to the cowl on each hinge finger-tight until you are ready to remove the hood. These two bolts will support the hood without damaging it, until a friend can help safely lift the hood off.

Using a friend once again, install the new hood with the insulation pad already installed. Snug the hinge bolts and slowly lower the hood while checking the fender gaps. The hood should be trial-fitted before painting to ensure proper fit. It can also be color-matched while installed, or removed and painted.

The finished product fit great and looks like it rolled off the assembly line.
For almost 50 years Chevys flagship has been the Corvette, and for good reason. The Vette has power and handling, with looks to back both up. The new Chevy Silverado has learned a lot from its athletic brother, and applied many of these lessons under the hood, which has resulted in a truck that runs stronger than a workhorse should.
With so much of the Vettes power under the hood, it was only a matter of time before some of the Vettes styling was incorporated above the engine compartment. The new C5 Corvette has the type of styling that makes any gearhead stop in his tracks. Now thanks to this new steel replacement hood from Goodmark Industries, some of this styling can be brought to your Silverado. The hood borrows the Corvettes raised hood portion and blends it with the Silverado hood lines to create a modern interpretation of the classic 69 Z/28 cowl induction hood. Choo-Choo Customs helped us demonstrate how easy the hoods are to install, and how well they fit.
